The 7th Durgapur International Film Festival was organized recently. It started as “Solis Short Film Festival” for the first time in 2016 at Durgapur.

Only 10–12 short films from West Bengal were presented during the festival’s inaugural season. The filmmakers very well accepted the festival, and it has been held every year since. The celebration continued online even in the midst of the corona pandemic. The event, now known as the “Durgapur International Film Festival,” has more than 150 films submitted to it, making it one of the leading Indian film festivals. The festival, which is being held in Kolkata for the first time, is in its seventh edition.

The festival was held at Dr. Triguna Sen Auditorium, Jadavpur University, where 40 short and feature films were screened.

A total of 153 films were submitted from different parts of the world in categories like feature, short and documentary films.

Biswanath Bose and Anamika Saha graced the film festival.

Anamika Saha and cameraman Shri Dilip Das was presented with Life Time Achievement Award this year.

The judge’s panel consisted of Sila Dutta, Ashoke Viswanathan, Cameraman Bibek Banerjee, famous theaters director Sabyasachi Biswas and the famous film director from Bangladesh Shahidul Haque Khan.
