Team Of Film Binodiini Graces Outstanding Event Nari-Shakti
Following its countrywide premiere, the highly awaited Bengali film Binodiini held a cultural event at Heaven Banquet, AMP Mall, Baishakhi, Saltlake. Curated by Sristi Dance Academy and supervised by famous director and educator Indrani Ganguly, the event features “Nari-Shakti”, a performance of highly acclaimed women who have made significant contributions to the arts and dance in our community. Acid attack survivors and impoverished women who were academy students performed as the opening act. They honored “Binodini” by dancing to the hit song “Kanha” from the movie Binodiini.
The cast and director of Binodiini were there, making the event a star-studded occasion. Rukmini Maitra, the main character, conveyed her sincere appreciation for this project, which aims to honor and bring poor women to the public eye.
She said, “I must say that Indrani Di has done outstanding work showcasing the talent of many underprivileged women of this society and that the dance performance in Binodini, a film that is centered around women, encourages the true essence of woman empowerment”.
Alongside actor Om Sahani, the film’s director Ram Kamal Mukherjee also graced the evening.
Special dance and music performances by Sristi Dance Academy students, many of whom are survivors of acid attacks and people with special needs, were among the event’s most moving moments. According to Indrani Ganguly, Binodini was the embodiment of tenacity, self-determination, and the victory of the female spirit.
This touching occasion represents the meeting point of culture, cinema, and social consciousness, where art serves as a platform for activism as well as amusement.
