A Great World Environment Day Celebration At ITC Hotels Kolkata

ITC Royal Bengal and ITC Sonar celebrate World Environment Day with more than just a statement; they take action as the world takes a moment to consider its relationship with the planet. These two renowned establishments, which operate under the Responsible Luxury philosophy, have long understood that genuine hospitality must benefit both their visitors and the communities in which they live. Here, sustainability is the cornerstone around which every experience is thoughtfully constructed, not an afterthought.
Fresh, locally sourced produce is served to guests thanks to a flourishing farm-to-table culture that is bolstered by on-site kitchen gardens. This lowers carbon emissions while enhancing culinary authenticity. EV charging stations on the property also facilitate eco-friendly travel for visitors who care about the environment.
A significant milestone in this sustainability journey was reached in April 2026 when Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI) awarded ITC Royal Bengal the coveted LEED Zero Water certification, making it one of only a few properties globally recognized under the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Zero framework for attaining net zero water consumption. This comes after ITC Sonar’s own LEED Zero Water certification in 2023, which attests to ITC Hotels’ steady, quantifiable influence on environmental stewardship.
On this World Environment Day, ITC Royal Bengal and ITC Sonar serve as evidence that genuine luxury and responsibility are inextricably linked.
