A refreshing romantic drama is all set to hit the silver screen as director Babai Sen gears up for the release of his upcoming film, Shiuli. Exploring an unconventional storyline, the film promises a unique blend of Bengali and South Indian cultures. The grand trailer launch event was held recently in the presence of the film’s cast and crew, including prominent singer Prashmita Paul.

Shiuli revolves around the love story of a Bengali girl and a South Indian boy. The narrative beautifully highlights that while languages may differ, love remains a universal and vital force in human lives. Alongside the cross-cultural romance, the film explores a poignant friendship among three individuals, weaving a compelling love triangle. Ultimately, the plot delves into themes of love, camaraderie, and the pivotal decisions that shape human lives.

The film features a fresh lead cast, with Twinkle Barua portraying the titular character Shiuli, Rasil playing Shibu, and seasoned actress Sudipta Chakraborty stepping into the role of Trina. Arshi Sen also plays a pivotal character in the movie.

“I have always loved telling stories with fresh concepts and unique angles. Shiuli is a deeply challenging project for me. If we can create good cinema with a fresh narrative and new faces, the audience will surely shower it with love—but for that, content remains king. The industry needs new talent today, and I am highly optimistic about this new pairing and story,” said director Babai Sen.

The soundtrack features a stellar lineup of vocalists, including Prashmita Paul, Pota, Adrij Ghosh, and Souvik Kar, adding emotional depth to the narrative.

Jointly produced by Susmita Adhikari and Nazim Munshi, Shiuli is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 19. With its promising new pairing, soulful music, and heartfelt storyline, the film is expected to strike a chord with cinephiles.
