iLEAD (Institute of Leadership, Entrepreneurship & Development) celebrated its 16th Founders’ Day by inaugurating its fourth campus, a significant milestone constructed with a commitment to zero carbon emissions and sustainable green architecture.

The inauguration was graced by Prof. Tapas Chakraborty, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), as Chief Guest, in the presence of iLEAD’s Chairman, Mr. Pradip Chopra; Executive Director, Ms. Pragya Chopra; and Principal, Prof. Dr. Niloy Sarkar.

The ceremony started with a ribbon-cutting to officially inaugurate the new campus, after which the Vice Chancellor was given a tour. Guests and students then assembled in the new auditorium, where the event was marked by a Vandana dance performed by students, tributes to the dignitaries, and official speeches.

The newly developed extension includes 14 classrooms, together capable of holding approximately 500 students.

The expansion is a direct result of shifting from the previous three-year undergraduate program to the current four-year structure, which requires more academic space and infrastructure.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Prof. Tapas Chakraborty, the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of MAKAUT.

As part of the new campus expansion, classrooms have been named after distinguished Indian figures and visionaries in recognition of their contributions to the nation.

The new extension is anticipated to offer students more classrooms and a larger, more comfortable academic setting, while helping iLEAD meet its obligations within the changing landscape of higher education.

The new campus upholds a philosophy that has characterized iLEAD since its inception. iLEAD’s current campus emerged from a transformation: once a neglected tannery, it was acquired and redesigned into a modern educational facility, with interiors largely constructed from upcycled and recycled materials such as tons of reclaimed wooden panels, tempered glass, broken glass, and repurposed mini-fridge glass, all assembled to achieve the campus’s distinctive sparkling look.

The fourth campus continues this same commitment, engineered to achieve zero carbon emissions and integrating strict sustainable green practices into its design and construction. It features thoughtfully designed, AV-equipped smart classrooms, each accommodating an average of 45 students, underscoring iLEAD’s ongoing commitment to creating modern, tech-driven learning spaces.
