Four years ago, YES BANK launched a meaningful initiative with the goal of ensuring that every underprivileged child in West Bengal can wear new clothes for the festive occasion of Durga Pujo. This year, the Sobar Pujo Durga Pujo program marks its 4th edition and has positively impacted 12,000 underprivileged children throughout the state. YES BANK, in collaboration with the Satyam Roychowdhury Foundation and the Rotary Club of Calcutta Metropolitan East, conducted a distribution ceremony at G.D. Birla Sabhaghar in Kolkata.

Return. Shyamashree Sen, former District Governor of Rotary and District Literacy Chair, was honored as the Chief Guest at the ceremony. This year, more than 12,000 new clothes were given to underprivileged children, an increase from 9,000 in 2025 and 4,700 in 2024. The Bank saw enthusiastic contributions from its employees, schools, NGOs, corporate partners, housing societies, neighborhood clubs, and individual donors throughout West Bengal, turning Sobar Pujo, Durga Pujo into their annual Pujo tradition as well.

For four years, this community-driven program has celebrated the rich Bengali heritage and the enduring tradition of notun jama ( new clothes) during Pujo. Sobar Pujo, Durga Pujo reflects YES BANK’s continued dedication to making sure no child is left out of the joy of West Bengal’s most cherished festival, regardless of economic circumstances. In the years ahead, the Bank will capitalize on this momentum to reach more children during each Durga Pujo, generating enduring benefits for the communities it supports.
