In a unique and spirited effort to safeguard Bengali culture, heritage, and vanishing traditions, the popular restaurant chain Bhooter Raja Dilo Bor has once again taken center stage. Emphasizing the cultural disconnect among the younger generation, restaurant owner Rajib Pal said: “While today’s generation exhibits immense enthusiasm for Halloween, they often lack even a fraction of that awareness regarding our own authentic Bhoot Chaturdashi”. Driven by a firm resolve to resurrect nearly forgotten indigenous customs, the brand organized a thrilling, spine-chilling yet delightful event at its Salt Lake, Sector V outlet.

The spooky gathering blended folklore with gastronomy, featuring special guest ghost experts alongside mythical entities like a Bramhaditya and a Gechho Bhoot. To mark the occasion, the restaurant launched an exclusive, eerie-yet-appetizing menu alongside its signature Bhooter Thali, allowing food enthusiasts to dive straight into the festive spirit.

Highlighting the true essence of Bhoot Chaturdashi, the celebration served as a cultural reminder of Bengal’s ancestral roots—traditionally observed on the night before Deepavali by lighting fourteen earthen lamps (chouddo prodeep) and consuming fourteen types of leafy greens (chouddo shak) to ward off evil spirits and honor forefathers. By drawing a sharp contrast with imported trends like Halloween, the initiative aimed to reconnect modern urban youth with indigenous rituals.

To extend the celebrations, Bhooter Raja Dilo Bor has announced that the special spooky menu and unique culinary offerings will be available across all its outlets from October 31 through November 7. Food lovers and heritage enthusiasts have been warmly invited to visit any branch during this period to relish authentic Bengali delicacies served with a supernatural twist, keeping the magic of Bengali folklore alive.
