The trailer launch of the upcoming Bengali film Alaap was graced by the director Premendu Bikash Chaki, Abir Chatterjee, Mimi Chakraborty, Anupam Roy, Somlata, Tonni Laha Roy and others.

The trailer shows the three main characters of “Alaap” are employed by various IT businesses. The three characters are namely Pablo Majumdar (Abir Chatterjee), Aditi Mitra (Mimi Chakraborty), and Swatilekha Sen (Swastika Dutta). Their paths cross in the workplace, setting off a sequence of events that, via a touching romantic comedy, reveal the complexities of relationships and commitment concerns.

Speaking at the trailer launch, Mimi said “The film is a grand representation of the modern times. It shows the complexity of emotions that we undergo in our regular lives. In the trailer, you can see Aditi and Pablo interacting via small chits of paper. One thing that I would like to highlight is that people have stopped communicating via letters. That was indeed a great way to tell your feelings comprehensively”.

Abir Chatterjee who plays Pablo said that the character is the typical next-door guy that most of us have seen in their regular lives. It is the complexity of the emotions and the way their lives get entangled is what the film will showcase.

The music of the film has been composed by Anupam Roy.

The film is slated for release on 26^th April.
