Anik Dutta’s Aparajito To Pay Tribute To Satyajit Ray On His 100th Birth Anniversary
The characters created by Satyajit Ray are evergreen even today. Be it Feluda, Apu, Lalmohan Ganguly, Mukul, and many more- all bear testimony to the fact that the creations of the legendary filmmaker are relevant even in today’s times.
The global pandemic has confined us within our homes. But a piece of good news will surely make your hearts gladden. 2nd May is the 100th birth anniversary of the legendary director. To pay tribute to the filmmaker and show respect to him, Friends Communication announced their latest film, Aparajito that will be directed by Anik Dutta.
The story is set in the year 1955. Aparajito Roy or Apu is 34 and has gained fame worldwide. Ideas for making films started to come to his mind ten years ago. He wants to make films of the new style. Apu worked as a visualizer at an advertising company. He did not have any ideas on how to make a film or get funds for making the film. The only thing that Apu had was great willpower, perseverance, and lots of confidence.
He could not decide on which topic he wanted to make a film. However, due to some incidents that happen, he decides to make a film titled Pother Podaboli.
While making the film, the team faces hardships and has to struggle a lot to complete the film. It takes three years to finish the film. The film gets recognition worldwide and Indian cinema gets noticed by cine-lovers all over the world.
The film Aparajito narrates the story of how Apu made the film Pother Podaboli.
The incidents in the film are all inspired by real-life stories. Abir Chatterjee will be seen in the lead role of Apu in the film. The actor had earlier enacted the role of Feluda, one of the evergreen characters created by Satyajit Ray.
The film is in the pre-production stage. However, this looks like a great film to look forward to!!
