Young Bollywood actor Bhumi Pednekar, who is now enjoying the love and admiration that everyone has shown her for her outstanding performance in Bhakshak, dedicates the movie’s success to the Indian media community. “Unsung heroes who sacrifice everything to bring out the truth,” is how she describes them.

“I’m thankful to the media and all the journalists who have given so much love to Bhakshak, which is now a worldwide hit. Every state in my nation I have visited since the film’s release, every media outlet I have recently interacted with has expressed to me how fervently I have portrayed them in Bhakshak” said Bhumi.

She continued, “They have expressed to me their pride in seeing Bhakshak because it demonstrates how a reporter can bravely go against the flow to uncover the truth, even if it means her life.” The fourth pillar of our democracy is the media. Journalists are the natural force that opposes injustice and works tirelessly to improve society”.

Bhumi added, “Bhakshak is my homage to these unsung warriors who live throughout the nation and give their all to expose the truth. Being in the media is not simple. We are aware of far too many instances when their lives are in danger, they are bullied, there is red tape, and they are attacked online or offline. However, what’s shocking is how the media doesn’t back down when facing culprits”.

“I have always been fascinated by their willpower. Crime journalists’ stories and lives are also motivational. The amazing work that journalists have done for our nation and society is unmatched, and they do it without seeking recognition. They just act decently. I applaud this fraternity for its defense of individuals, democracy, and the underprivileged” said Bhumi.
