The trailer for the much-awaited movie Chaalchitra Ekhon, which is helmed by the talented Anjan Dutt, was released by Hoichoi. Taking viewers on a nostalgic trip through the 1980s, the film delves into the process of creating Mrinal Sen’s masterwork, Chalchitra.

The trailer celebrates the special relationship between mentor and trainee as portrayed by Kunal and Ranjan and takes viewers back to the mesmerising pandemonium of Kolkata.

In his role as director Mrinal Sen, Anjan Dutt gives a riveting performance, and Sawon Chakraborty brings the figure of young Anjan Dutt—who is portraying Ranjan Dutt—to life. Being the wife of the director, Bidipta Chakraborty gives the story more nuance.

Promising an extraordinary experience, ‘Chaalchitra Ekhon’ has garnered critical acclaim, winning awards such as the Special Jury Award for “Innovation in Moving Images” at KIFF and the Best Actor Award for Anjan Dutt at the Dhaka International Film Festival.

“This is a special film for me. With Chaalchitra Ekhon, I embarked on a journey that was both personal and cinematic. It is an homage to the great Mrinal Sen, a teacher who greatly influenced my artistic development. Had he been alive, I would not have started making films. I would have worked in other fields. We explore the core of friendship, creativity, and the vibrant energy of Kolkata in the 1980s through this film” said Anjan Dutt.
