Bengalis have always made their mark in any field- music, arts, film, sports, science, education, and even business. To recognize the efforts of these Bengali personalities who have made Bengal proud in their respective fields, Garber Bangali 2021 Award Show will be organized.

This was announced through a press conference held recently. The press meet was attended by Koel Mullick, Kharaj Mukherjee, Anweshaa Duttagupta, Nachiketa Chakraborty, Deep Chakraborty, and others.

2021 also marks the fifteen years of Dana, a monthly Bengali journal which is being published from Kolkata for the last several years. The Magazine will come out with a special Baisakhi issue.

Eminent Bengali personalities who will be awarded at the event are Sourav Ganguly, Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty, Nachiketa, Aarati Mukherjee, Shaan, Anweshaa Duttagupta, directors Gautam Ghose, Kaushik Ganguly, author Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay, painter Subrata Chowdhury, lyricist Srijato, and dancer Dona Ganguly.

“I am honored that I will be awarded beside such respected Bengalis whom I have adored for such a long time. This is a great feeling” said Anweshaa.

Kaushik Hossain Taposh from Bangladesh will also be awarded for his contribution.

Speaking at the event, Deep Chakraborty (editor of Bengali magazine Dana) said “The award ceremony is to honor and recognize the talents of those Bengalis who have contributed to the society. We plan to hold this award ceremony every year”.

Koel Mullick said that Bengalis have been making the nation proud since times immemorial. “Be it Rabindranath Tagore, Amartya Sen, Swami Vivekananda, Ramakrishna, and many others, the list is enormous. I am glad that I could be part of such a great initiative. I feel proud to be a Bengali” said the actress.

Garber Bangali 2021 Award Show will be organized on Poila Boisakh at ITC Royal Bengal.
