Bhowanipur 75 Palli Durga Puja Committee has always come up with new and innovative themes for their Durga Puja every year. This year they have taken up the challenge to discover the theme “Manobik”.

Along with this, they have taken up the duty to uplift the morale of “Chhau Dancers” (folk dance of Purulia, West Bengal) during Durga Puja.

The Bhowanipur 75 Palli puja committee has decided to help the ”Chhau” artists of Purulia district, who have been badly hit by the lockdown.

”Chhau” is a traditional dance form that has performers retelling episodes of Ramayana, Mahabharata, and the Puranas, in colorful costumes and masks. They will depict a small village of Purulia and will bring the government enlisted ‘chhau’ dancers and their families to Kolkata.
