Pernod Ricard India announced the launch of its first premium Indian single malt, Longitude77 — made in India, for India and the world.

The brand pays homage to the tradition of Pernod Ricard India in the nation and was created especially for those looking for real, modern Indian luxury. The brand aims to preserve the artistic legacy of India while redefining the country’s global significance in the domain of genuine luxury and exquisite workmanship with its first Indian Single Malt.

Longitude77, a tribute to the nation’s unique culture, terrain, and terroir, has been painstakingly created by Pernod Ricard’s master distillers utilizing the best locally obtained ingredients. Made in tiny quantities at a distillery located in Dindori, Nashik, Maharashtra, the launch epitomizes Pernod Ricard’s unwavering dedication to India, its innovative spirit, and its emphasis on investing in the nation as the firm marks 30 years of its existence there.

The longitude that defines India’s location on a global map and runs the entire length of the country at 77° east served as the inspiration for the brand name. It reimagines an India of unrivaled sophistication and luxury, encouraging discriminating shoppers to find and make personal connections with their heritage. The single malt’s natural mahogany color, which is a testament to its maturing procedure, is the result of its double maturation in wine casks and American Bourbon barrels. The bottle is presented in a matte-finish canister painted in indigo, the world’s first color introduced by India.

India is still regarded as one of the world’s three largest markets for whisky consumption (behind the US and China). Pernod Ricard wants to show how committed it is to support local manufacturing, jobs, and innovations in several categories, beginning with the introduction of single malt, to attract a diverse workforce. With 30 years of rich legacy and activities in India, the company operates through its distillery in Nashik (Maharashtra) in addition to 28 bottling locations across the nation. With 97% of domestically manufactured products, the company contributes to the growth trajectory of the country.
