The shooting of the upcoming Bengali film Madam Sengupta is in progress in Kolkata.

Rituparna Sengupta, Rahul Bose, Paran Bandopadhyay & Kharaj Mukherjee were present at the shoot.

Directed by Sayantan Ghosal, the film is presented by Pradip Kumar Nandy and produced by Nandy Movies.

Renowned cartoonist Madam Sengupta travels to Kolkata to look into her estranged husband’s inexplicable disappearance. What does Madam Sengupta learn on this voyage that alters her course in life?

The cast of the film consists of Rituparna Sengupta, Rahul Bose, Ananya Chatterjee, Subrata Dutta, Kaushik Sen, Paran Bandopadhyay, Kharaj Mukherjee, Santilal Mukherjee, Debapriyo Mukherjee, Raunak Dey Bhowmick, and Ratan Sarkhel.

Rituparna Sengupta said she was excited about the project. “I was surprised when I was approached with the title. I am a Sengupta doing a film titled Madam Sengupta. This is my first film with the production house and also with the director. The character of the cartoonist appealed to me. I found the story interesting when I heard the narration of the story. Hence I am doing this film. After many years, I am working with Rahul Bose again. The casting is amazing”.

The director said “After overcoming date problems and other issues, we are finally shooting the film. This is a murder mystery. The central character is not a detective or a police officer. This will give the story a different angle. There is an emotional journey and not simply a murder mystery. This film will be different from the other thrillers I have done”.

The USP of the film is the murders are linked to Sukumar Ray’s Abol Tabol.

Anupam Roy is composing the music for the film. There are two songs.
