Tomar Amar Boimela Organized At Housing Complexes And Blocks
To promote Bengali books in particular and to link readers with the authors, the Publishers & Booksellers Guild, which organizes the International Kolkata Book Fair, has organized “Tomar Amar Boimela” at housing complexes and blocks in Kolkata.
In the presence of notable individuals like Hiran Mitra, Arun Mukhopadhyay, and Jayanta Dey, the first event was officially launched on June 24 at the Regent Park Government Housing Estate Community Center. It will run through Sunday, June 26.
Tridib Kumar Chattopadhyay, secretary of the Publishers and Booksellers Guild, said, “This is an initiative of the Guild to raise awareness about books and to connect with Bengali book readers, old and young, which we have aimed for long to satiate the thirst of bibliophiles in the cultural capital of India.”
The second fair is scheduled to take place from 1st to 3rd July at the Utsav–Utsarg apartment in Santoshpur and from 15th–17th July at the FD Block in Salt Lake, respectively.
