The global pandemic has dampened our spirits and many of us have become depressed as a result of this. To spread happiness among the people in the new normal after the first wave of the pandemic, an online international food fest was organized by the West Bengal Hotels & Restaurants Council of WICCI in collaboration with Russia-India Cultural Exchange (RICE).

West Bengal Hotels & Restaurants Council of WICCI in collaboration with the Russia-India Cultural Exchange (RICE) announced winners of their Online International Food Fest 2021. The food fest was held as an international food relay from 1^st Jan to1^st March 2021.

The participants sent pictures of themselves holding their prepared dish along with the recipe. Fifty-one selected entries were published on RICE’s Facebook page, as well as WICCI Council’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

Juries from both the organizations selected five winners from the following food categories -Veg/Vegan – Archana Bhargava, Non-Veg – Antara Raha, Bakery/Dessert – Dorothy Nair, Healthy – Aastha Jain, and Fusion/Innovative -Ruby Pathak. The winners were given food coupons/hampers and Winning Certificates in a grand prize distribution ceremony that was held at ICCR in Kolkata, on 10 Apr 2021.

The prizes were sponsored by Ganguram Mithaiwala, Bake O Cake, Haveli, Gokuland Fete. The certificates were provided by RICE.

All the selected participants were given a Digital Participation Certificate by RICE.

Mrs.Prity Poddar, President of West Bengal Hotels & Restaurants Council of WICCI said that with this online food festival, the objective of spreading happiness was fulfilled.
