Ultraviolette announced the addition of its X-47 Crossover electric motorcycles to the Kolkata Police fleet, representing a major milestone in the integration of cutting-edge mission-specific electric vehicles for policing in India. The official handover ceremony took place at the Lalbazar Police Headquarters, during which the motorcycles were officially accepted.

The deployment of 183 X-47 Skyforce electric motorcycles to the Kolkata Police marks one of the largest fleets of electric bikes ever taken into service by an Indian police force. Ultraviolette is also the first electric two-wheeler manufacturer, by scale, to have its motorcycles added to the Kolkata Police fleet, with the X-47 Skyforce being rolled out as a specialized Patrol Variant designed for police use.

The X-47 Skyforce has been specially adapted to meet the Kolkata Police’s needs, featuring an enhanced electronics setup to support integrated police equipment such as sirens, horns, a Public Address ( PA) system, decals, LED flashers, microphone mounts, radio holder brackets, and side storage compartments. The motorcycles have been subjected to rigorous testing before delivery, guaranteeing that the fleet is ready to move from traditional mobility to a new era of electric, connected, and specially designed police vehicles.

The X-47 Skyforce motorcycles are now being used in actual police duties. Unlike symbolic deployments, the X-47 Skyforce Patrol Variant is designed for demanding daily tasks, combining the nimbleness of a motorcycle with the adaptability and power needed by police officers working in fast-changing urban settings.

Designed with Ultraviolette’s performance-oriented engineering at its core, the X-47 delivers a blend of agility, high-speed performance, extended range, and practicality, ideal for scenarios demanding rapid response, maneuverability, and operational adaptability. Its crossover design also equips officers with a motorcycle built to handle diverse urban environments while carrying the necessary gear for their duties. The X-47’s ergonomic design, power delivery, and smooth ride are meant to help officers stay effective during long operational sessions.

The induction showcases Kolkata Police’s commitment to modernization and the advancement of mobility for law enforcement, illustrating how public institutions can adopt futuristic mobility solutions while meeting real-world operational needs.
