Institute of Neurosciences Kolkata (I-NK) celebrated its 14^th foundation day. The institute was started in 2009 with 50 in-patient beds. In the course of 14 years, the hospital has increased the capacity to 210 beds, 70 non-practicing consultants and 350 nurses.

This foundation day celebration event was graced by Prof R.P. Sengupta, H.K.Dwivedi, Prof Asuri Narayan Prasad, Moon Moon Sen, Dr.Hrishikesk Kumar, Prof Arjune Sen and other eminent dignitaries.

With one consultant intensivist, one consultant neurosurgeon and one consultant anaesthetist on duty at night, any neuro-emergency can be treated on-spot by any consultant. This is a unique feature of this medical institute.

With the increase in demand for neuro-services, I-NK has acquired a new building at 6B, AJC Bose Road. They are also in the process of acquiring a 4-storey building on Park Street for starting a college of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy approved by the WBUHS from July 2023.

On the occasion of its 14^th Foundation Day, a two-week-long educational and research program are going on with neuroscientists from Oxford University and other universities in Canada.
