The premiere of director Indraadip Dasgupta’s film Kedara took place recently in the presence of the cast and crew of the film.

The story of the film is a eulogy tribute to a dying art form, ventriloquism. Narasingha is a ventriloquist. When the relevance of his art started to fade away, so did his livelihood. The story takes a turn when junk dealer Keshto presents him with an armchair, something he had always coveted to possess. The wooden armchair acts as a catalyst and brings about a transformation in his personality.

The script and dialogues are by Srijato. The music is by Arijit Singh.

The cast of the film consists of Kaushik Ganguly, Rudranil Ghosh, Bidipta Chakraborty and Mousumi Sanyal Dasgupta.

The film won the prestigious Special Jury Award at the 66th National Film Awards.

The film also received tremendous appreciation at different film festivals namely Jury-special Hiralal Sen Memorial Award for acting at the 24th Kolkata International Film Festival, Best Debut Director at the 18th Edition of Imagineindia Film Festival, Madrid, Best Debut Director at the 3rd Bengaluru Bengali Kannada Film Festival 2019, Best Director, Best Cinematography and Best Film at the 6th Edition of Hyderabad Bengali Film Festival and so on.

Kedara was screened in the competition section at the following film festivals namely 24th Kolkata International Film Festival, 18th Edition of Imagineindia Film Festival, Madrid, 3rd Bengaluru Bengali Kannada Film Festival 2019, 3rd Edition of Ottawa Indian Film Festival and others.

Abir Chatterjee, Prosenjit Chatterjee and other eminent guests graced the occasion.

The film is running at different single screens and multiplexes in Kolkata.
