Nagerbazar will be transformed to Nagaland, during Kali Puja in 2018. If you are wondering what this is all about, read on.

BLD Bagan which is located a few hundred metres from the busy cross-section of Nagerbazar, will get a new look during Kali Puja and Diwali this year. It is presented by Naba Yubak Sangha, a popular local club of Behari Lal Dutta Lane.

A 20 ft. high Naga structure, with sharp edges on top & the symbolic slanting roof, will house the Goddess Kali.

Conceptualised by Asish Basak, writer and film-maker, the idea of creating ‘Nagaland in Nagerbazar’ is an attempt to make people aware of the culture of our North-Eastern states of India, about which people have less knowledge.

Cultural programs will be held in the open-road stage during 5th to 8th Nov. The highlight point will be a fashion show with models in Naga costumes and also recital of folk music of Nagaland, to be presented by artists of ‘Hello Kolkata’, the theme partner of this Kali Puja.

Sri Baidyanath Mitra, President of Naba Yubak Sangha, Dr. R. Pradhan (Vice-President), Pinku Shaw (Secretary), Rajesh Shaw, Tarak Shaw, along with a host of enthusiastic young members, hopes that this year huge number of devotees will come and offer their prayers to the goddess.
