Ballygunge Maitri Sporting Club celebrated its 59th Kali Puja with an amazing inauguration led by visually impaired individuals who have demonstrated that being blind is never an obstacle to reaching one’s objectives and contributing significantly to society.

The Kali Puja was inaugurated by Mr Biswajit Ghosh, Former Principal of Ramakrishna Mission Blind Boys Academy, Mr Chinmoy Mondal, Vice President of the Cricket Association for the Blind in India, Mr Shiladitya Chaudhury, Foodpreneur and Nature & Wildlife Conservationist, Mr Arvind Chokhany, Chairman, Ballygunge Maitri Sporting Club, Mr Kaushal Prasad Mishra, Vice President, Mr Prashant Kumar Singh, Chief Advisor of the club, and Mr Mohammed Gyasuddin, Managing Director, Hitech Mobiles.

The special guests, who were visually challenged achievers, sent a strong message that a person’s potential is not limited by their physical condition. Through their own experiences and accomplishments, the dignitaries have shown that self-belief, tenacity, and resolve can help overcome obstacles. Because of their involvement, the inauguration became a celebration of human resiliency, equal opportunity, and inclusivity rather than merely a ceremonial event.

The intricate ornamental preparations were designed and carried out by Shakti Decorator, Anandapur, while Sri Gobindo Pal and Rajeev Pal created the statue of Goddess Kali, adding to the celebration’s festive grandeur. Their creative contributions added to the general joyous atmosphere of the 59th edition of the celebration and improved the puja pandal’s aesthetic appeal.

Club members and locals came together for the celebration in a spirit of devotion, unity, and social inclusion.
