Star Jalsha has been mesmerizing the audiences with one serial after another. Now the channel has come up with a love story titled Mayurpankhi for the audiences.

A press meet was organized which was attended by Saibal Banerjee, Leena Gangopadhyay, Sohini Guha Roy and Soumya Mukherjee.

Saibal Banerjee is the producer and director of the serial. Leena Gangopadhyay is the creative director, screenplay and dialogue writer of the show.

Mayurpankhi’s trailer that has been shown on television has already garnered much popularity among the audiences. The story is about Tisham and Souryadip and narrates their journey of rising above the norms of society to define relationships.

The story is set against the backdrop of Durga Puja. Singer Tisham creates a huge impression on Souryadip’s heart at first sight. Souryadip takes a picture of her and when Tisham comes to know about it, falls in the river out of surprise. Souryadip dives after her. What happens next??

Sohini Guha Roy will be seen as Tisham in the serial. “I am very scared of water. And during the shooting, I had to fall in water backwards. That was a frightening moment for me. However everyone in the team helped in executing the scene and I am thankful for that” said the actress.

Souryadip mentioned that working with Leena Gangopadhyay has been a dream come true situation for him. He also loves to take pictures and mentioned that his character also has a similar knack in the serial.

Leena Gangopadhyay while speaking about the serial said “Whenever I go to a place, I bring back stories from there. Those stories get incorporated in the stories that I write. We have been shooting at different places in Kolkata and this has been tiring for Saibal and the team”.

Saibal Banerjee added that they shot many sequences in Taki during the Durga Puja time. “It was during that time that many boats were available and we shot during that time. We also had to assemble a huge crowd and for that we hired four hundred people” said Saibal Banerjee.

The show is from the house of Magic Moments. The music has been composed by Debajyoti Mishra.

The new serial will start from 12th November at 5.30 pm only on Star Jalsha.
