Bengal Fish Fest 2020 Inaugurated; Boat Race Introduced in Fifth Edition of Food Fiesta
In the august presence of Rajesh Kumar Sinha, Chandra Nath Sinha, S. Kishore and Santanu Saha, the press meet of the Bengal Fish Fest 2020 was organized.
A website was also launched at the event.
This is the fifth edition of the food fiesta. This is organized jointly with Indian Chamber of Commerce and Department of Fisheries, Government of West Bengal.
The main aim of the food fiesta is to propagate new inputs and technology and also throw light on the prospective investment opportunities in the fisheries sector of West Bengal.
There are about 100 stalls in the food fiesta and 80 percent of them comprises of food stalls. A number of food stalls is also set up by reputed food chains.
The stalls and exhibitions at the food fiesta will be put up by stakeholders from the fisheries sector for the promotion of various modern technologies, different kinds of fish feed, ornamental fish and others.
Technical seminars and conferences will also be organized as part of the fish fest. A large number of fishermen are also expected to attend the seminar.
A special investors’ meet will also be organized during the food festival to explore the scope of export promotion an investment potential as well as the possibility of promoting fish market within and outside West Bengal.
A new event of Boat Race has also been introduced this year with participants from various co-operatives.
The food fiesta will continue from 10th to 12th January, 2020 at Nalban Food Park, Kolkata.
