Korok Biswas Felicitated For Fighting Down’s Syndrome and Pursuing His Dream As A Dancer
16 year old Korok was born with a condition named Down’s Syndrome. This is a lifelong condition which begins from choromosomal anomalies of an individual. This can cause intellectual disability and hinder the development of an individual. The individuals who have this condition have distinct facial features and also low muscle tone. Korok also had these problems. However due to the help of the professionals at Noble Mission, Korok’s life changed.
The teachers and also his parents (Kallol Biswas and Sarama Biswas) understood that he had passion for dance. Then he started training on Gaudiya Nritya from Kaberi Puitandy. After receiving a scholarship from Centre for Cultural Resources & Training of Govt of India, his journey began as a dancer. He took part in competitions in India and Bangladesh.
His highest honor till now is receiving the Pradhan Mantri Bal Shakti Purashkar 2020 where he was honoured with 48 other talented children.
To motivate him further, Korok Biswas was felicitated in the presence of Dibyendu Barua, Alokananda Roy and other eminent dignitaries.
