Shooting of Upcoming Bengali Film Pantua In Progress
The shooting of the upcoming Bengali film Pantua is currently in progress in different parts of the city.
The story of the film is about an elderly couple Ashutosh Bandopadhyay and his wife Uma Bandopadhyay. Despite being financially dependent, the couple feels the pangs of loneliness in their lives. Their son Saswata and his wife Madhurima died untimely in a car accident. To get rid of this feeling of loneliness, they go to Bolpur. They meet an orphan young girl Pantua who changes their lives. What happens next?
The sequence that was being shot was the elderly couple had gone to Bolpur and they meet Pantua.
The story, script and direction are by Raja Banerjee. “There is an element of Bangaliana in the film which will appeal to the audience” said the director.
Paran Bandopadhyay will be seen in the role of Ashutosh Bandopadhyay in the film. The actor will also be lending his voice to a song in the film. “I will be singing to save my back. I am not a professional singer and hence it will be a challenge to sing the song” said the veteran actor.
Lily Chakraborty will be seen in the role of Uma Bandopadhyay in Pantua. “I have worked with the director before. He does not like to work without me. He treats me like his mother and when he requests me to do a film, I cannot reject. The character is also good” said the actress in between shots.
11 year old Aratrika Banerjee will be seen playing the lead role of Pantua.
Rupankar, Indrani Sen, Ankita, Paran Bandopadhyay and others will be singing the songs in the film. There are five songs in the film.
The shooting of the film will be done in Kolkata and Bolpur.
The film will release before the Durga Puja.
