24th Kolkata International Film Festival Concludes; Tabu, Shoojit Sircar Graces The Occasion
The 24th edition of Kolkata International Film Festival came to an end. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee could not be present due to her work commitments. But she ensured that the setup for the film festival closing was up to the mark.
Tabu, Shoojit Sircar, ministers like Aroop Biswas, Firhad Hakim and others graced the closing ceremony of the film festival.
Dona and Sana Ganguly’s dance performance marked the beginning of the evening’s events.
Mritubhoj-The Feast was awarded with the Best Documentary of the year. This was directed by Akanksha Sood Singh.
Amritanshu won the Best Short film award for the film Chahat Ke Gubbare. The prize was given to him by Sabitri Chatterjee.
Best Director of Hiralal Sen Memorial Award on Indian Language Films Competitition went to director Arijit Biswas for the film Surjo Prithibir Charidike Ghore. Jury Special mention for Actor of Hiralal Sen memorial Award on Indian Language Films Competition went to Kaushik Ganguly for Indraadip Dasgupta’s Kedara.
