The artists involved in Jatra are facing a hard time due to the spread of the pandemic Coronavirus. Usually the Jatra season in Bengal begins from Durga Puja and continues till the summer season. However after a few months all the Jatra artists had to stay back at homes and this has impacted their earnings. They are having a hard time now.

Actor Priyam who is a well known face in Bengali films and television industry has taken up the initiative to help these Jatra artists. He has made a short film and the earnings from the short film will be given to the Jatra artists.

The actor had also appealed to the Chief Minister of West Bengal to see into the matter so that the Jatra artists can be provided financial support during these dark times.
