Kolkata’s love for Biryani is well known all over the country. To celebrate this love for Biryani, Fairfield by Marriott Kolkata is all set to celebrate Regional Biryani Festival -The best of Bengal and Hyderabad, at its all-day – dining Kava from 13th to 19th August 2021.

Developed in the Mughal royal kitchen, the journey of Bengal’s Biryani began in May 1856, when Nawab Wajid Ali Shah, the 10th Nawab of Oudh, came to what was then Calcutta. Since then the flavors, constituents, and the essence of the Biryani underwent perpetual changes and now Kolkata alone has unique choices of Biryani to savor. Enjoy the taste of ‘Newtown Chicken Biryani’, ‘Kolkata Mutton Biryani’, and many more at this festival.

Although the exact origin of the Hyderabadi Biryani remains uncertain, legends attribute it to the Nizam’s chef. Indulge in ‘Hyderabadi Subz Biryani’ or ‘Kacche Gosht ki Biryani’ and others at this festival.

The menu has been created by Chef Arabinda Seth. The delicacies can also be relished at the comfort of home through Swiggy or Zomato.
