The Bengal Fashion Heritage Aims to Preserve Bengal’s Handloom; Fashion Show on 22nd December
Formerly known as The Bengal Fashion Show, The Bengal Fashion Heritage is a noble initiative by Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The main aim of this event is to preserve Bengal’s rich handloom and embroidery heritage and enhance the livelihood of weavers and artisans of West Bengal.
Dr. Rupali Basu, Founder Director of the Bengal Fashion Heritage, Pinky Kenworthy, Deputy Director of TBFH and others graced the press meet to announce this event.
The participating designers at the event are Abhishek Ray, Adarsh Makharia, OSAA by Adarsh, Ayushman Mitra, BOBO Calcutta, Bappaditya Biswas, Byloom, Meera Basu, Kavita Banerjee, Bon Bibi, Malika Varma, Pranay Baidya, Sharbari Datta, Sayantan Sarkar and others.
Speaking at the event, Dr Rupali Basu said “The main aim of this event is to preserve the heritage and also make the youngsters aware of it. They should know that they have a choice of these materials too. I am not asking them to wear it in the form of sari or traditional dresses. One can experiment and make different outfits from them too”.
The show will be organized on the 22nd of December showcasing the collection of the twelve renowned designers.
