Madhur Bhandarkar, Gaurang Jalan, Sumit Agarwal, Subhrajit Mitra were present along with the cast and crew at the grand premiere of the much-awaited Bengali film Avijatrik (The Wanderlust of Apu).

Eminent personalities and celebrities from different fields were also present at the premiere.

‘Avijatrik’ (The Wanderlust of Apu) is the sequel to the classic “Apu Trilogy”, directed by Satyajit Ray. The story starts from where “The Apu Trilogy” had ended in 1959 with “Apur Sansar”. The film focuses on Apu’s overwhelming desire to explore the world outside.

The production design, screenplay, and direction are by Subhrajit Mitra.

The director said “We have done our job with full dedication and we have waited patiently for the past one and a half years to release the film. Now that the film is finally released, I am feeling butterflies in my stomach. Let’s see how the audience reacts to the way we have presented this story”.

The film is presented by Bhandarkar Entertaiment & Gaurang Jalan. Avijatrik has been produced by Gaurang Films and co-produced by Bhandarkar Entertainment.

The music of the film has been composed by Bickram Ghosh.

“Since the film’s release was delayed, we got the time to fine-tune some elements in the film. This has further enhanced the film. This film is worth the wait. I will request audiences to come to the cinema halls and watch this film” said Bickram Ghosh.

The cast of the film consists of Arjun Chakrabarty, Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, Arpita Chatterjee, Sreelekha Mitra, Ditipriya Roy, Ayushmaan Mukherjee, Sohag Sen, Tanusree Shankar, Barun Chanda, Biswanath Basu, Rupanjana Mitra, Shubhro. S. Das, Ishan Mazumder, Antasheela Ghosh, Jagriti Jalan, and others.

The film has gone to several film festivals in India and abroad and has been well received. Hence the entire team is hoping that it will be well received by the audiences of Kolkata as well.
