Manipal Hospitals, Salt Lake Kolkata organized Basic Life Support training for journalists. The session was conducted by Dr. Paromita Kanjilal Chakraborty, Consultant- Emergency Medicine, Manipal Hospitals, Salt Lake, Kolkata.

The training highlighted basic lifesaving skills that will be helpful during simple home emergencies to critical situations. The doctor also stressed how one should tackle and help to save lives during emergency situations.

Dr. Paromita Kanjilal Chakraborty stressed that 80% of cardiac arrests take place outside the hospitals. In India, most people do not know about CPR training. If an individual can perform the CPR method, life in danger can be rescued.

The training with the journalists was conducted so that they can provide help to the others in need. They are the frontline warriors and they spend most of their time outside.
