Exhibition The Politics Of Paper Highlights Paper’s Relation With History, Culture And Politics
Emami Art inaugurated “The Politics of Paper” curated by Ushmita Sahu. The exhibition talks about engagements and explorations of paper as a support, a material, a concept, a process, and/or other intellectual engagements from individual, formal, historical, socio-cultural, political perspectives to name a few.
The exhibition shows several works by renowned artists like Adip Dutta, Anju Dodiya, Atul Dodiya, Chandra Bhattacharjee, Jagannath Panda, Jayashree Chakravarty, Mithu Sen, N S Harsha, Prasanta Sahu, and TV Santhosh.
The exhibition highlights the paper’s intrinsic relationship with our history, culture, and politics for several millennia.
In addition to this, there will be a seven-day workshop around the exploration of paper which will also include some of the senior artists and selected young upcoming artists from the region.
The exhibition was inaugurated on 12th February and will continue till 29th March 2022, from 11:00 am – 6:00 pm on the ground floor at Emami Art (except on Mondays).
