In the august presence of Sanjay Lakhotia, Germany Consul-General Manfred Auster, RCGC Captain Rohan Ghosh, and other eminent guests, the announcement for the Consular Bowls 2022 was done at RCGC’s Maidan Tent.

The event will be held at RCGC’s Maidan Tent which is India’s only natural Bowling Green. It is also the second oldest golf club outside the British Isles.

Consular Bowls 2022 will take place from 11^th to 13^th Match 2022.

The main aim of the event is to bring all the Consulates and local business communities on a platform and develop friendships and business opportunities together. It will also provide an introduction to the game of Lawn Bowls.

The participation is open to the Kolkata Consular Corps and RCGC members.

For contributing to a better environment, RCGC and the Consular Corps along with Y-East Org will participate in an hour-long environmental action around RCGC on Sunday. There will be a cleanliness campaign, trash bins will be installed and trees will be planted. RCGC is also committed to taking care of the planted saplings and a partner organization will empty the trash bins regularly. These measures will be financed from the proceeds of the tournament.

It will be played in a Triples Mixed Team format with two players from the Consulate and one RCGC member, steered by an RCGC Bowler playing together till the League stage. After the completion of the League stage, the Bowling member will join the team for the knockouts till the Finals.

Consular Bowls 2022 format:

• All teams will have to play league matches for qualifying for the knockouts.
• The top 8 teams will play the main cup and the next 8 teams will qualify for the Challengers Plate.
• There will be prizes for the winners and the runners-up for the Main Cup and Challengers Plate.
• The winner of the tournament will get a trophy and will get an opportunity to be the Wild-card entrant as defending champions to the next edition in 2023.
• The most promising player of this tournament will be felicitated.

Consular Bowls Dates:

• Practice rounds on 6^th, 7^th, 9^th, 10^th March 2022 (4 pm to 8 pm)
• League match on 11^th March 2022 (4 pm to 8 pm)
• League match on 12^th March 2022 (4 pm to 8 pm)
• Pre-quarters/quarters/semis and finals on 13^th March 2022 (12noon to 6 pm)
• Prize distribution will be followed by cocktails and dinner on 13^th March 2022 (7.30 pm onwards)
