Arindam Sil’s Next Byomkesh Film Based On Sharadindu Bandopadhyay’s Incomplete Story Bishupal Bodh
SVF joins hand with Camellia Productions will present an incomplete story of Byomkesh Bakshi ‘Bishupal Bodh’ written by Sharadindu Bandopadhyay.
The story has been completed by Arindam Sil and Padmanabha Dasgupta for the movie. It is Arindam Sil’s fourth Byomkesh directorial after ‘Har Har Byomkesh’, ‘Byomkesh Pawrbo’ and ‘Byomkesh Gowtro’.
The film is set in the tumultuous Naxalite uprising in Bengal in 1971. Byomkesh Bakshi gets involved in a story of vengeance when he decides to attend a play at the theatre. He becomes a witness to a crime unfolding on the center stage. As Byomkesh Bakshi digs deep into the case, it opens him to a tripartite story of love, betrayal, and infidelity.
Arindam Sil said that of all the movies he has directed, the Byomkesh movies are closest to his heart. Completing this incomplete story of Byomkesh was a great challenge for him and Padmanabha. The coming together of SVF and Camellia is a good sign for the Bengali film industry.
Abir Chatterjee will be seen in the role of Byomkesh. Sohini Sarkar will portray the role of Satyabati and Suhotra Mukhopadhyay will be seen portraying Ajit.
The film is untitled.
