“Mahananda’s Music Has A Rustic Feel And Will Appeal To All Listeners”- Bickram Ghosh
Upcoming Bengali film Mahananda narrates the tale of the life of social activist and author Mahashweta Devi. The music launch of this much-awaited Bengali film took place in the presence of the cast and crew of the film.
Directed by Arindam Sil, produced by Firdausal Hasan and Probal Halder, the film stars Gargee RoyChowdhury in the title role, along with Ishaa Saha, Debshankar Halder, Arna Mukhopadhyay amongst others.
Eminent singers, Iman Chakraborty, Sahana Bajpaie, Dipannita Acharya andTimir Biswas performed the songs from Mahananda at the event.
The music of the film has been composed by Bickram Ghosh. Speaking at the event, he said “The music of the film has a rustic appeal and will leave a great impression on the minds of the listener”.
The songs ‘Hey Ote’&‘DholBaaje’ was sung by Dipannita Acharya, ‘Rong Dhorse’ & ‘Ammar E Poth’ by Sahana Bajpaie, ‘Mati’ by Iman Chakraborty, ‘Dhanuk Uthao’ by Timir Biswas, and ‘Jhansi Song’ by Timir Biswas & Dipannita Acharya. All the songs are composed by Bickram Ghosh and penned by Subhendu Das Munshi. Timir Biswas also sang ‘Apni Bnachle’, which has been written and composed by him.
Sanglap Bhowmik is the Editor of the movie, whereas Ayan Sil is the DOP and Adeep Singh Manki and Anindit Roy have done the Sound Designing & Mixing. The Costume has been designed by National Award Winner, Sabarni Das.
Mahananda will release on 8th April 2022 across single theatres and multiplexes across West Bengal.
