“If Jaya Di Is The Heroine, Then Bickram Da’s Music Is The Hero Of The Green Window”- Indira Dhar Mukherjee
Director Indira Dhar Mukherjee’s short film The Green Window is dedicated to the mothers on this planet. It is the tale of a Christian woman who stays in India at an old-age home. She lives there until her family comes from abroad to take her back home.
The short film was recently screened at the 27th Kolkata International Film Festival.
A press meet for the film was organized that was graced by the director, Bickram Ghosh, Jaya Seal Ghosh, Arghya Kamal Mitra, Priti Agarwal, and others.
“The film is a biopic of Georgita Lorimer. And what she could not achieve in her real-life happened in the film. In real life, her family did not come to take her back. In the film however that wish-fulfillment is shown. The ending of the film is therefore positive” said the director.
The producer of the film is Priti Agarwal.
The screenplay has been written by Indira Dhar Mukherjee.
The cinematographer of the film is Arnab Riingo Banerjee.
The editing has been done by Arghya Kamal Mitra.
The music has been composed by Bickram Ghosh.”There is languidness to the music before the child appears. But when the child appears, the music becomes alive. Hence, there are two characters to the music. There is an ambiguity to the story and that attracted me”.
“If Jaya di is the actress in the film, then Bickram da’s music is the actor of the film” added the director.
Jaya Seal Ghosh plays the main lead in the film. “Initially I was skeptical about how I will be able to do the role of a sixty-year-old woman. But the director’s faith in me convinced me to do the role” said the actress.
The short film is of thirty minutes duration.
