The book launch of Boria Majumdar’s Promotto Commissioner & Maverick Commissioner took place in the august presence of Boria Majumdar, Boney Kapoor, Anupam Roy, Anindya Chatterjee, and other eminent dignitaries.

The book Maverick Commissioner is based on the IPL and Lalit Modi saga. IPL has revolutionized the way cricket is marketed and run globally. Modi built the tournament on his own rules and he was successful too. However, he was banned for life. What happened actually? The book delves into facts that the people never got to know about. Maverick Commissioner is a no-holds-barred book. It does not judge Lalit Modi. It simply states facts as it is.

Maverick Commissioner will be made into a film by Vibri Motion Pictures.

The launch was followed by panel discussions on “What makes a good sports film” and “The business of cricket”.

Prosenjit Chatterjee who is all excited and tensed about the release of his upcoming Bengali film Aay Khuku Aay said that his character in the film is different from the ones he has done before. The audience will be surprised to see him in this avatar.

The actor who loves to play different games said that he plans to make a sports film in Hindi soon.

Boney Kapoor is all set to release his next sports film Maidaan. He said “During the making of the film Mr. India, originally the cast consisted of Amitabh Bachchan. However, due to the high cost of making the film, the other makers stepped aside from the project. It is then that I entered the project. I was two films old and Anil had done one film. So I cast him in the role. Whatever effects we did for the film were done with the help of the camera. We did not have great editing studios then. It was Javed Akhtar who coined the dialogue Mogambo khush Hua and now it has become an iconic dialogue”.

Promotto Commissioner is priced at Rs 250 and Maverick Commissioner is priced at Rs 699.
