“Pulling The Rickshaw Was A Different Experience”- Ishaa Saha
The teaser launch event of Pavel’s film Kolkata Chalantika took place in the presence of the director, Ishaa Saha, Anirban Chakrabarti, and others.
A part of the under-construction Vivekananda Road flyover collapsed on 31st March 2016. Six years after the mishap, director Pavel came up with a film around this incident. The story of the film will narrate the happenings of three days.
The cast of the film consists of Ishaa Saha, Rajatava Dutta, Saurav Das, Aparajita Adhya, Anirban Chakrabarti, Ditipriya Roy, Kharaj Mukherjee, Anamika Saha, and Kiran Dutta aka The Bong Guy.
Anirban Chakrabarti said that the film is a story of a city. How the city is affected by such a grave incident and bounces back to normalcy is what the film is all about. Different individuals from different strata of society have been shown in the film.
Ishaa is shown pulling a rickshaw in the teaser. “It was a different experience. I might have thrown Saurav out of the rickshaw while pulling the rickshaw. However that did not happen. But I do not think that I will be again pulling a rickshaw again”.
“I became emotional when I was shooting the film. We all have seen the after-effects of the incident. We were not directly affected by the incident but the scenes affected us all. Tumpa, my character was directly affected by the breaking down of the bridge. It will be something different from the characters I have played before” said Ishaa Saha.
The story of the film has been penned down by Pavel and Professor Swati Biswas.
The film is presented by Baba Bhootnath Entertainment and presented by Satadru Chakraborty.
Kolkata Chalantika is eyeing for release on 26th August.
