Medical buses are being used to make it easier for rural Indians to obtain healthcare whenever and wherever they need it. Anandalok Hospital is supporting this project to introduce East India’s largest hospital on wheels, Lotus TMT Medical Bus.

It will be built by BDG Metal & Power Ltd. (Saltlake). It is a crucial tactic for facilitating access to public health care, especially for those residing in isolated, challenging, and unreached places. This concept aims to bring healthcare to people’s homes, especially in rural, disadvantaged, and underserved areas.

The occasion was graced by Sovandeb Chattopadhyay, Minister of Agriculture, Govt of WB, Sujit Bose, Minister of State for Fire Govt. of  WB, Sayan Deb Chatterjee, State Secretary of West Bengal Trinamool Youth Congress, Dev Kumar Saraf, Founder Director of Anandalok Hospital, Ramesh Chand Goyal, Chairman of Goyal Group, Dr. Kunal Sarkar, HOD Cardiology and Vice Chairman Medica Super Speciality Hospital and others.

All primary healthcare services, including eye, dental, and ENT check-ups and treatments, general check-ups, pathological laboratories, general OPDs, ECG and X-ray facilities, as well as many more services, are available aboard this 32-foot medical bus, which is prepared to hit the roads. In this mobile hospital, those in need will also receive medications and eyeglasses. The cost of a doctor’s consultation would be Rs. 10, while the first prescription of medicine would be issued free of charge, the cost of a pair of glasses would be Rs. 20, and the cost of pathology, an ECG, and X-ray services would likewise be Rs. 20. Inside the bus would be a team of four doctors, a lab and x-ray technician, and a patient counselor.

Additionally, this effort seeks to improve access to healthcare for those in remote areas and for those who are otherwise shut off from it.
