The 5^th edition of the Annual Award Ceremony known as Disha Samman 2022 by Disha Eye Hospitals was organized at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre. The awards honor the accomplishments of people with visual impairments as well as organizations that fight to improve their quality of life.

Debashis Sen, IAS, Managing Director, HIDCO, Mrs. Alokananda Roy, eminent danseuse, and Dipendu Biswas, and Alvito D’ Cunha, former Indian footballer were present to honor the awardees.

Disha Samman 2022 was awarded to Diwakar Sharma, the young and talented visually – impaired singer, Shyambazar Annyadesh, a theatre group formed of visually challenged artists, and the Football Association For The Blind In Bengal.

Disha Samman consisted of a plaque and a cash prize of Rs 50,000 to each of the awardees and organizations.
