“Scaring People Is Very Difficult”- Director Bhushan Patel at Promotion of Bollywood Film Amavas
The press conference of the upcoming Bollywood film Amavas took place recently in the presence of director Bhushan Patel, Sachiin Joshi and Ali Asgar.
To give a feel of the horror, a girl dressed as a ghost moved around the room during the press conference.
The story of the film revolves around a couple named Karan and Ahana who lives in London. Karan decides to propose to Ahana in Paris. But Ahana sees a summer house a bit far away from London. She asks him to take her there and propose. Though Karan does not like the idea, he reluctantly goes there. What happens next?
Speaking at the event, director Bhushan Patel said “I simply do not understand why Bollywood horror films compared with Hollywood films. They have bigger budget, A list actors in them, great VFX. It is recently that A-list actresses like Anushka Sharma, Bipasha Basu and others are acting in the horror films. However my last films have done well and hence I can say that my films are well received by the audience”.
The director also added that scaring people is difficult. The whole process of creating the atmosphere on the sets is very tough and this is what makes it interesting to shoot. The main thing is the story as many ghost films do not have proper story.
Ali Asgar plays the role of Goti in the film. “My character is not a comic one. However he brings comic relief whenever he is on screen. I am the caretaker of the castle where all these horror things occur. I am loyal to my employer”.
The director revealed that sine Nargis had not done a horror film before and she was an A-list actress, she was considered for the role of Ahana.
Nargis Fakhri, Vivan Bhatena, Mona Singh, Navneet Kaur Dhillon will be seen in pivotal roles in the film.
The film is eyeing for release on 8th February.
