The Faith Project is a partnership between a renowned Carnatic musician from Southern India and a Bengali physicist who has been traveling the globe.

Renowned director Samik Roychowdhury and his crew at White Hole Creations had the vision to bring the entire premise to life in rural Bengal, where it first took shape.

This corpus of work makes an effort to examine the unfiltered emotion of “Faith”.

In the first place, “faith”—which is frequently explicitly construed as religious faith—is a deeply ingrained human feeling. Perhaps the songs of faith that regular people sing throughout their lives are one of the closest ways to experience that emotion.

TV-Ramprasadh

TV Ramprasadh, who is renowned for his prowess in the specialized field of Carnatic classical music, desires to travel to the country of such faith and sing the melodies of people who help us reconnect to our fundamentals. He will be escaping the prison of being “esteemed” in order to follow his heart and delve into the enormous power of simplicity. Throughout the year, he would perform Songs of Faith in many languages from all over India. In his call to eradicate all forms of prejudice that divide people, to that FAITH which joins everyone beyond human constructs such as religion, status, caste, and gender, to a profoundly moving experience.

This project will bring together regional vernacular songs of devotion and faith to be performed by Shri TV Ramprasadh in various regional languages in honor of Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and India’s 75th anniversary of independence. These songs are sung by members of various religious and ethnic communities throughout India on a daily basis and have been passed down through the generations.

The first song in this project is “Shokoli tomari Iccha”. This quintessential Bengali song has been completely internalized by Shri TV Ramprasadh.
