The book launch of Achena Akaash took place recently. Present at the occasion was Debojyoti Mishra, Srijato and the author Amrita Mukherjee.

“It is a wonderful experience that my book is just coming out just before the Kolkata Book Fair 2019. This book maybe will open up new doors for me. The book consists of poems revolving around common people. Though the people may be regular individuals, often a part of their lives become clouded” said Amrita Mukherjee.

The author is also busy writing her next novel in English titled Kadambinir Ajkal. She was the first female graduate from India but she was discriminated against. The discrimination has not decreased now, feels the author. Hence she thinks that this will make for a good read for the readers.

Srijato who had read Amrita Mukherjee’s earlier works mentioned that maintaining the love for her mother language while staying abroad is a huge challenge. He congratulated the author for her passion to continue writing in Bengali.

The book will be available at Stall No 440 at Kolkata Book Fair.
