The time has come to bake plum cakes and soak nuts, fruits, and spices in wine and rum. The customary cake-mixing event, which typically takes place a month or two before Christmas, ushers in joy and cheer for the holiday season. This custom has long been practiced at Polo Floatel and is carried out in a spirit of joy and celebration.

Polo Floatel organized their cake-mixing ceremony in the presence of Koneenica Banerjee, Payel  Mukherjee, and other eminent guests.

The history of cake mixing can be traced back to the 17^th century during the harvest season. Fruits and nuts were harvested and then prepared for making the plum cakes.

For the cake-mixing event, many dry fruits like cashew nuts, and raisins were soaked in different kinds of liquor. These will be marinated and then made into cakes that will be available for purchase later on.

Koneenica Banerjee in between mixing the ingredients said “I used to go to Nahoums to buy cakes as a kid. I even used to line up to buy the cakes. And now to be a part of the cake-mixing ceremony is a great feeling. Many of my friends also do this kind of cake mixing at their homes. The smell of dry fruits and different kinds of liquor is creating an amazing atmosphere”.

The actress also added that Polo Floatel was one of her favorite properties. The ambiance of the property is what attracted her to it.

Looking pretty in a yellow short frock, Payel Mukherjee expressed her joy at being a part of such an elaborate affair. The actress also mentioned that the cake-mixing events, it is like a teaser to Christmas.

The more these ingredients will be soaked in, the better will be the taste of the cakes. Hence, Polo Floatel took the initiative to soak in the ingredients earlier.
