Robotic Uro Oncology Workshop Conducted at Narayana Superspeciality Hospital
A Robotic Uro Oncology workshop was conducted at Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Andul Road, Howrah under the Bengal Urological Society.
The conference was the first of its sort in eastern India since the fourth-generation robotic platform known as the da Vinci X was employed for the first time during this workshop.
Multiple surgeries on patients with urological cancers such as cancer of the prostate, bladder, kidney, and penis were performed using cutting-edge robotic technology.
At the conference, Dr. Rajesh Ahlawat, Chairman of the Department of Urology at Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon, and Dr. Tarun Jindal, Consultant Uro Oncology and Robotic Surgery at Narayana Superspeciality Hospital in Howrah, demonstrated various surgeries.
Urologists from all around Kolkata and the eastern part of the country came to this Conference. On the second day, trainee urologists were given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to go inside the operating room and see how robotic procedures are performed firsthand. Multiple training sessions were also held to educate the young urologists on the complexities of robotic surgery.
This meeting was a fantastic learning opportunity for the region’s urologists to observe and study robotic surgery, as this is the future of surgery.
