Sarbajit Chatterjee’s Film Chirkuth Raises Questions On Ethics

The Note (Chirkuth) is a 23 minutes Bengali film directed by Sarbajit Chatterjee. The director along with producer Joy Duttagupta, Parometa Mukherjee, Aparajita Ghosh, and others graced the press meet of the film at the 28th KIFF.

The story of The Note is about Shibu, a poor boy who lives with his mother. His mother works as a domestic help and he operates as a domestic boy. He is given to delivering Basanti Polau at an address. But he does not find anyone at the address. He is in a dilemma as to whether he should return the food or consume it to put an end to his hunger. What happens next?

The cinematographer of the film is Arnav Guha.

The music has been composed by Subhadeep Pan and Soumyadeep Basak.

The editing has been done by Sumanta Sarkar.

The cast of the film consists of Sourav Das, Parometa Mukherjee, Sourin Chatterjee, and Aparajita Ghosh.

Speaking at the press conference, Aparajita Ghosh said “I play a business lady who runs this delivery business. She trusts her delivery boys completely. However she is also very professional in her work as she has to run her business properly”.

The actress also added that the director gave her very little time to prepare for the role. She was just given the script and she had to get ready for the role instantly. She hoped that she had done justice to her role and that the audience will like her.

The film has been selected under the Competition on Indian Short Films.
