“Bickram Ghosh’s music is the soul of the film Soch. He had composed music for my earlier film as well. He did amazing work in the film. And Jaya di is always a pleasure to work with” said director Indira Dhar Mukherjee at the press conference of Soch at 28^th KIFF.

Along with the director gracing the occasion were Jaya Seal Ghosh and Shaheb Chattopaadhyaay.

The story of Soch shows domestic violence on an artist. The film shows that it is never too late to start a new life.

Speaking at the press conference, the director said “Abuse in any form is connected to the mental health and well-being of the victim. Soch shows the mental health of the homemakers. The film has been appreciated at the different film festivals that I have sent it to. Getting a producer for such a film was difficult and I am glad Jaya di came forward to produce the film”.

Jaya Seal Ghosh said “I have great chemistry with Shaheb on-screen. I have done three short films with him. Two out of them are directed by Indira- The Green Window and Soch. We are planning to do a feature film together. It is very important that you share a great rapport with the co-artist. That helps in doing a good job”.

Shaheb said that after watching Soch, he felt that it was one of his best works to date. He praised the director and said that Soch was an extremely well-knit film.

The screenplay of the film has been penned by Indira Dhar Mukherjee.

The producer of the film is Jaya Seal Ghosh.

The cinematographer is Avijit Nandy.

The editing has been done by Suvro Roy.

Jaya Seal Ghosh and Shaheb Chattopaadhyaay are the main cast of the short film.

The film was part of the Short and Documentary Panorama section.
