For many years, Kolkata became known as a hub for culture and the arts. For many years, the city captured the attention of artists from all over the world. The Urdu poem “Kolkata: Ek Ehsaas” was published by the music company Cozmik Harmony on November 10th of last year on its official YouTube channel. Shushant Chattopadhyaya, also known as “Safeer”, is an Urdu poet from Allahabad who wrote and recited the poem. A special introduction to the video is provided by renowned vocalist Usha Uthup and Devarshi Roy Choudhury, a descendant of Sabarna Roy Choudhury and an authority on Kolkata’s past. They talked about how they felt about the city of joy. In the poem, Shushant explored his inner thoughts about the city, its diverse cultural landscape, the realities it faces, and the allure it holds for magic.

Somerita Mallik, a well-known researcher of Kazi Nazrul Islam’s work and a proponent of Nazrul Geeti, who is from Kolkata, composed the music for the song. Uttam Mukherjee, a veteran keyboardist, also contributed to this unique effort. Rajen Bose, a recordist in Kolkata, completed the recording at Studio Vibrations.
