The trailer gives viewers a glimpse into the world of Hagda, a small community where residents find joy in the little things, live simply, and care deeply for one another during good times and bad. Since their community lacks even the most basic conveniences, the advent of a new postmaster named Damodar Das (played by Suhotra Mukhopadhyay) is cause for joy. But what is this postmaster’s tale, and will he be able to transform these people’s lives by writing them letters one at a time? Will he also find love with the Monjori (played by Ditipriya Roy)?

The series has been written by Padmanabha Dasgupta.

Ditipriya Roy, who plays Monjori said, “Dakghor is a program that I fell in love with as soon as I heard the writing. It is really well-rounded; it includes humor, drama, feeling, and love. It’s, to put it mildly, heartwarming. I would absolutely watch this show even if I wasn’t a part of it because it’s not only a plot but a collection of lovely moments that shows viewers how straightforward yet fulfilling lives are in the heartland of Bengal”.

The show’s lead Damodar is played by Suhotra Mukhopadhyay. He said “Dakghor is a slice of life, and not only a slice of life narrative. You travel alongside the characters on a simple, wholesome journey. You’ll experience their emotions, go through their day-to-day struggles, and succeed with them. Initially feeling like a fish out of water in this community, my character eventually learns to enjoy life, and the people and discovers his real calling in this work and location that he had finally wished to leave. It’s a touching story, and I have no doubt that viewers will remember it for a very long time”.

Kanchan Mullick will be seen in the role of Madhusudan (Postmaster’s Assistant). The actor said “Apart from a few actors, the other actors are theatre workers. Hence there were intensive workshops done for them. With Dakghor, it will pave a new journey for these actors. We shot the series at a place located 37 kilometers away from Burdwan. The place was full of snakes and other dangerous animals. However, we did not become afraid while shooting the series. Letters are a mode of communication and are a way to express one’s feelings. With Dakghor, many such memories will come rushing back from the audiences”.

Dakghor will premiere on 24th February.
